One Month

This past month has been a whirl wind! I am still in awe that she is already a month old. You guys where is the time going? So far she still sleeps a lot (duh, still a newborn), thinks that the hours from 2am and 5am are a great time to be alert and awake. So am going to have to work on that with her.

She is also going through a growth spurt and is already in size 1 diaper and has outgrown most of her newborn clothes and is slowly starting to fit into her 0-3month clothes.

*sob* my baby is growing to fast!

Briona Skip

She is here! My little owl girl made her appearance on January 25th, 2014. Her birth story is below.

As you know I went into active labor on Wednesday night (the 22nd of January) but it eventually stopped because she was floating.

Then that Friday morning I went to my appointment with me midwife where she decided to flip from anterior (the position we wanted her stay in) to posterior while the Doppler was on her so my midwife went to manually check her position and she went transverse on us. So she ordered an ultra sound to double check her position.

When I got there the ultra sound showed that she was breech. So I started to everything suggested.

Saturday morning (the 25th of January) at 8:50am my water broke preventing the doctor my midwife was going to have me see to manually turn her from being able too. So she made the horrible call that I would have to go to the hospital and would most likely end up having a cesarian.

I was/am devastated. I seriously bawled my eyes out the whole time I was packing my hospital bag and most of the time I was at the hospital.

The staff and doctor were really sympathetic and walked me through everything. They even did an ultrasound to check her position. We were all hoping she had switch back to anterior so I could go home. Unfortunately she was transverse with her back against my cervix. The doctor was worried about cord prolapse at that point so he peeped me and the OR for surgery.

They did a gentle cesarian.

The doctor even allowed her to stay connected to the placenta until the cord stopped pulsing. Then he tied my tubes (at my request) and then surprised my by fixing the abdominal separation that originally happened with Kaileb and got worse with Briona's pregnancy. I thought that was really cool of him to do as hurt and kinda bugged me to look at. Hopefully that'll mean no tummy tuck in the future.

They were surprised at how big she was so they brought her to me and let me give her kisses before checking her out and weighing her. Oh and lil miss refused to turn for the doctor she came into this world butt first and got a tiny cut on her poor little bum because of it.

Even though I am still upset over the birth I got versus the birth I wanted I am in newborn heaven. I love this little girl so much already.
