Witch Central Nutella Cookies

Chocolate Nutella Cookies
Prep Time: 15 minutes (not including chilling or baking time)
Makes around 3 dozen cookies

-        1 ¼ cups all purpose flour
-        1 teaspoon baking powder
-        ½ teaspoon salt (omit if using salted butter)
-        2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-        ½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened
-        ½ cup sugar, granulated white
-        ½ cup brown sugar
-        2 teaspoons vanilla extract
-        ½ cup Nutella, room temperature
-        1/3 cup milk
-        ¼- ½ cup Nutella for topping

Preheat oven to 325⁰F.
In a gallon sized Ziploc bag (or whisking together in a small bowl), combine flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder. Toss in bag to mix well. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth (about 2 minutes). Add vanilla extract and beat for another 30 seconds. Add in Nutella and beat until smooth and well incorporated.
With the mixer running, add half of the flour mixture (I snip off a corner of the bag, that way it’s easy to hold and add while using the mixer) and mix until well combined. Add in the milk, mixing until well incorporated. Add in the rest of the flour mixture and mix completely. Cover and refrigerate the dough for at least 15 minutes (and as long as 2-3 days).
When ready to bake cookies, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll tablespoon sized amounts of dough into balls and place them on a lined cookie sheet, allowing about 2 inches between the dough balls.
Lightly press the dough balls with the flat of your palm. Make an indention with your thumb in the middle of the dough balls. Add a scant amount (around or less than 1/8 teaspoon) of Nutella to the dip of the dough balls.
Bake for 10-12 minutes (mine were definitely done at 10 minutes, smaller cookies at 9 minutes) or until the cookies are crackly on top and soft, but starting to set. Remove from the oven and allow them to stand for about 5 minutes, then transfer the cookies to a cooling rack and allow them to cool completely. Store in an airtight container for up to two weeks (if they last that long!)

Cancer Sucks

Cancer sucks balls. Not even going to lie about it. This last week I have spent more time in hospitals than I care to admit. My mom fell and was taken to the hospital last week. We found out that she has blood clots in her lungs. They have her on blood thinners right now but on Friday one of them burst and she was moved to another room to continue her recovery.

That means that until her blood clots clear up her chemo and radiation treatments are put on hold.

She is honestly one of the strongest people I know. She took me in when I was 12 and became the Mom to me she didn't have to be to me. I love that her family took me in and became my family. And my kids call her Grandma. They are so lucky to have her in their lives.

I pray that no matter what this cancer throws her way she will rise up and beat it. Breast Cancer will not defeat her! We love you so much Mama!

Hello! July Part 1

We've been busy around these parts. Mostly out of town and lots of play dates. It is summer time after all. Usually by the end of the day I am so tired I go to bed with the kids instead of staying up for an extra couple of hours to get some work done. Then before I know it it is the weekend and we are off having family fun again.

Here are some photos from the 4th of July:

I got to visit my friend Holly from Picture Me Sweet and she was kind enough to let me use her props to take the kids pictures. I love this lady and am so glad we are friends - especially friends who share a common interest.

But I digress - the 4th was a blast. We went down to my dads house and stayed the night so we could get up and go to the parade that morning. As you can see they had a blast!

Then it was off to my Dad's for fun on the farm and swimming!

Meet the twins. Kaileb was not to sure about them.

Briona is such a Daddy's girl. We love it.

I took her for her first swim. She loved the water. Dare I say I have a water baby???

PopPop let Kaileb sit on his motorcycle. He is obsessed! He is always talking about "his bike" now.

Matt and I also work with Kaileb on his fear of the deep water. He did so good swimming back and forth to us.

That was our 4th of July in a nut shell. There is so much more that happened this month that it can't possibly fit into one blog post. Be on the look out for part 2 soon!

I've been struggling lately - with just about everything. One thing that I have noticed is that postpartum depression is rarely talked about. It is kind of like one of those hush hush – swept under the rug to never be talked about dirty little secrets.
I am here to say that I have postpartum depression and I was strong enough to admit it to my doctor. It took all my pride to do it also. I felt weak admitting to it. But I realized that I had to do something for myself because my family deserves the best of me.
Through all this I have already lost friends but I have gained better friends because of this also. So here I am. PCOS, Postpartum Depression and all.

TLC Vox Box from Influenster

I received these items courtesy of the Influenster network for the TLCVoxBox challenge. I love being an Influenster!

The Neo To Go is amazing! Especially having a rough and tumble little boy. I now have this hanging off my key chain so it's ready when he falls down at the park or at home. We all know how little boys are right?

I enjoyed this coupon so much! I had never gotten gelato before and it totally blew my mind! Since hubby was working late my little man and I enjoyed a little mommy/son date night while sissy slept. There was yummy gelato and popcorn to eat and the new Tinker Bell movie to watch before bed time for him and me.

Allergies are going crazy in my house right now. Both the kids and the hubs had had runny noses and been sneezing their heads off. Puffs came to the rescue with their tissues! I even went out and got a bigger box for the sniffles going on around here.

Who doesn't love saving money at the pump? $0.03 cents off at the pump, I am down for that. If you want to sign up for your own please use my referral code here to sign up!

Kai and I had a blast blowing up Ivory Soap in the microwave and seeing the soap cloud it made. I even re-purposed the cloud of soap  and made little soaps with cookie cutters in fun shapes for Kai to use in the bath tub.

I am starting to get laugh lines around my eyes so this was a nice surprise to find in my TLCVoxBox from Avon. Totally filled out those laugh lines of mine. See what I mean?

Thanks Influenster, Shell, NeoToGo, Breyers, Avon and Ivory for making my TLCVoxBox awesome!

Red Balloons For Ryan

A few days ago Jacqui from Baby Boy Bakery and her husband Dan lost their little boy Ryan in a tragic accident. You can read more about the story here from her friend Alissa. In the mean time Lisa, Indie Nook, and Little Boogaweezin have all made something you can purchase and or donate to the family in this time of great loss.

Hug your babies close today. I know I will be.
