What I would tell my 16 Year Old Self

Sixteen was a rough age for me. If I could go back and tell myself some things to help me out in the future, these would be it:

  • Go easy on Grandma, she is smarter than you think.
  • Make sure Dad goes to the doctor after the horse kicks him. You come dangerously close to losing him.
  • Don't worry so much about love. It will find you and you'll be very happy.
  • Think about what you tell Mom the next time you see her. It will be your last.
  • Don't stress about what everyone thinks about you. It is not going to matter in a few years anyway.
  • You may be shy now, but you will eventually find your voice.
  • Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself.
  • Dad and Grandma will eventually believe you. Your sister will get the help she needs.
  • When you turn 18 you are going to move out and your world will shatter but you will find a mother in Bonnie, your best friends mom.
  • Get help for your depression. Once you start cutting it will take years for you to control it. Don't worry though, you will eventually control it and will have an amazing support net to call upon once you do.

If you could go back and tell your 16 year old self something, what would it be?

oh so many ways to follow along
